GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CA3 ATTRITION UNIT
See G.A. OF ATTRITION LINE
The unit is designed to carry out the dry attrition of resin bonded sand moulds, reducing the lump sand left after casting removal into grain size.
The nominal output rating of the unit is 3-tonnes per hour.
The maximum deck loading is 700kG.
The output rate is dependent on the resin content of the sand and also the sand to metal ratio of the mould, i.e. a high resin content and / or a high sand to metal ratio will lower the throughput of the unit.
The top deck comprises heavy-duty profiled plates complete with deck plate. Positioned below this is a perforated plate screen, which is above the final wedge wire screen, which has an aperture width of 1.9 mm.
Wedge wire screens are fitted at the discharge end of the unit to screen material, which builds up at the upper level tramp retaining area.
Tramp metal and other large particles are retained in the unit and require regular removal via the clean out door.
A chute assembly, which is bolted onto the discharge end of the unit, incorporates outlets fitted with flexible seals
DRIVE:
1 Vibrator motors, ref. 380v. 3Ph. 50 Hz. 3.7kW.
BUFFER MOUNTS:
4 – Ref 79452 - 9
The vibratory action is generated against rubber buffers mounted off two base frames, these provide 95% isolation, thus enabling the Attrition Unit to be mounted on a standard foundry concrete floor, or mounted from suitable supporting steelwork.
DO NOT MOUNT ON FLOORS WHICH DO NOT HAVE A SOLID CONCRETE FOUNDATION.
